Create transactions

Transactions can be scheduled in a variety of ways. The best method for you will depend on your specific workflow. The list below outlines our recommendations for each method in Rotessa.

  • For small businesses with few customers, or situations where you onboard your customers infrequently, we recommend adding transactions into Rotessa manually
  • If you are migrating to Rotessa from a bank or other PAD/ACH payment service we recommend importing CSV in bulk. This option is especially useful if you have existing transaction schedules in a separate platform and want to migrate without a lot of data entry. Our support team is more than happy to discuss this option if you need help.
  • If you are using QuickBooks Online or Xero as your accounting software, consider connecting your accounting software to Rotessa using our integration. This is an easy way to migrate existing customers in a quick and efficient manner. Once your customers are imported, you'll be able to seamlessly import invoices from your accounting software to create transactions in Rotessa.

Notes on transactions

Transactions take five business days to process. We recommend scheduling transactions one day in advance because the five-day processing timeline begins when the transaction is processed – not when it’s scheduled.

Transactions are “batched” to the bank at 11 am CST to be posted that day and in Canada they are again at 4 pm CST to be processed the following day.

Once a transaction is created, the process date and frequency cannot be edited. The transaction must first be deleted, and then re-created with the correct information. If you are deleting a recurring payment, check the history tab of the customer to see if any payments have been processed.
