Transaction CSV import

There are a few ways to schedule transactions:

How to bulk import one-time or recurring transactions from our CSV template

  1. On the customers page of your Rotessa account, select new.
  2. Select new transaction and then select CSV upload.
  3. Select download transaction import template to download the transaction import template CSV. This template has proper column headers for sorting your transaction data, as well as a sample transaction.
  4. Open the transaction import template in a spreadsheet editing software and enter your transaction information. We use the custom identifier field instead of the customer name for transaction imports because it is a unique field (customer names can be duplicated). In most cases, the custom identifier is the same as the name unless you’ve made a change manually.
  5. The options for the frequency field must be capitalized and they are:
  6. Once*
  7. Weekly
  8. Every Other Week
  9. Every Four Weeks
  10. Monthly
  11. Every Other Month
  12. Quarterly
  13. Semi-Annually
  14. Yearly
  15. If you leave the instalments field blank, it will set up an indefinite schedule.
  16. The comment field is optional
  17. Save the spreadsheet as a CSV file when you have added all your transactions.
  18. On the customers page of your Rotessa account, select new, new transaction, and then CSV upload.
  19. Upload your newly created transaction import file in Rotessa by dragging and dropping the file into the upload box or browse to the file. If any field is invalid or does not find a match in Rotessa, an error will be identified in the errors column.
  20. Select the transaction(s) you would like to import. Select import transactions to finalize the import of your new transactions.

Note - A transaction created in advance of the process date will have a status of future. A transaction can only be edited or deleted before the transaction has the status of Sent to Bank.

*To avoid getting an error, the frequency of Once requires a 1 in your instalments column.
